Parents choose it for their children's digital safety, while employers use it to keep company computers being used properly.
What data does it collect?
A well-designed monitoring tool collects useful summary information — not every single keystroke. Here is what Spektio collects:
- App usage times (which program, and how long it stayed open or in focus).
- Websites visited and the time spent on them.
- Game activity and durations.
- How long the device stays active (powered on) each day.
- Attempts to open blocked sites.
Spektio does not record screenshots or log keystrokes (no keylogger); the goal is not surveillance but healthy digital habits and transparent use.
How does it work? (end to end)
The process revolves around an "observation key" you get from the dashboard:
- 1You sign up on the dashboard and a personal observation key is generated for you.
- 2You install the Spektio app on the computer you want to monitor and enter this key.
- 3The app runs quietly in the background; it measures activity and sends it to the dashboard at regular intervals.
- 4And wherever you are, you view the daily reports, sites and durations from the web dashboard.
What happens if there is no internet?
Even if the internet goes down after activation, the app keeps working: it stores the data locally on the device and delivers it to the dashboard once the connection comes back. This way there is no data loss and the app runs properly without crashing.
Is it legal?
Monitoring your own device, the device of a child for whom you are the legal guardian, or a computer that belongs to your company is generally legal. For workplace monitoring, informing the employee (the duty to disclose) and using the data only for the relevant purpose are important under KVKK (Turkey's data protection law).
